Career

Things you won’t learn on a resume.

Executive Summary

Over two decades working on the web. I have had a passion for websites since high school when I was first able to build one. There was something about getting my words and images out in front of everyone that grabbed hold of me, and I have never let that go.

Analytical and curious mind. I love digging into the analytics of a site. I have been tasked with creating KPI’s and goals for world wide websites and set and achieved goals for my simple personal blog.

Strong knowledge of the Adobe Suite. I use Photoshop and Adobe Premier almost every day for work and for fun. I have made numerous videos and built projects with Photoshop from websites, to book layouts, and simple coloring with my daughters.

Amazing attitude. Whether it’s jumping in to help out co-workers on projects outside of my area of expertise, to having a great attitude and elevating the mood of those around me, I have a proven track record of achieving and helping those around me achieve.

UScellular

Digital Content Manager II

Apple and Samsung product releases. In my time at UScellular I created and coordinated actionable items for developers. Helping steer on-time delivery of new phones like the iPhone and Samsung Galaxy S series.

Placed in a job outside of my area of expertise, but thrived. This position was about content planning. What products to promote based off of data, where to promote that product, and creating tasks for developers to deliver. With so many things going on at one time like new product introductions, new promotions, and last minute pivots, I learned to work in a fast and flexible manner.

On of the major lessons learned here was that even small changes can make major impacts as they flow down the line.

Endeavor Health

Web Content Administrator

Solo managed three enterprise level healthcare websites. NorthShore University HealthSystem acquired one hospital every year I was there. Each of those websites were separate entities until they could rebrand as Endeavor. This meant that every year the workload would increase and the number of people requesting changes increased. I learned how to manage not only the websites, but the people. Prioritizing requests and learning to say, “No…but we can…” were important skills I honed.

Created a content refresh calendar. With so many departments requiring attention I had to enact a content refresh schedule. I identified the most important departments and set them up with a yearly refresh, one for each quarter. Then set up secondary departments on an every other year refresh, four on year one, four on year two. The rest of the departments would be cared for on an ad-hoc basis.

Wrote and edited images. In this role, I was often called on to write blog posts for the company outreach blog. Often times these were recipes or food based health tips based off the knowledge I gained at my previous employer, Newly Weds Foods. I pride myself on the fact that I can carry over lessons learned at previous jobs to enhance current ones. Those blog posts would require images to grab readers attention and those images had to be created, processed, and made web-ready.

Newly Weds Foods

Web Content Writer

Sole webmaster and content creator for a world-wide website. I not only managed the creation and posting of content for the site, I was also in charge of finding hosting, managing the back end, and even recovering the site when it was hacked. I was truly a jack of all trades at this position.

Created a social media plan. Newly Weds Foods had nothing when I started so I had a clean slate to work with, which was very exciting. I created a content calendar, and promoted that content on targeted platforms, pruning the under performing platforms, and tailoring messages for the ones that worked best.

Analytics reporting. I was tasked with monitoring site analytics as well as on-page SEO. These required monthly reports to be generated and shared up to the director, and even presented these finding to the CEO.
